‘The We Give Blood Drive’ at University of Maryland
The University of Maryland is hosting an on-campus blood drive as part of Abbott and the Big Ten Conference’s “The We Give Blood Drive” – a first-of-its-kind college conference-wide blood donation competition.
The competition comes at a time when the U.S. is experiencing one of the biggest blood shortages in a generation.
The blood drive at the iconic Tyser Tower is part of the competition between the 18 Big Ten Conference schools. A $1 million prize is on the line for the winning university to advance student or community health.
Every donor will receive a pair of tickets to the Maryland vs. Rutgers football game on November 16. To learn more about the drive or to register for a donation time, visit inovablood.org/event/umd1028/.
People who want to donate blood as part of the competition can learn more about eligibility, find participating local blood centers and validate their donation to count for their school of choice at BigTen.Org/Abbott.
