2nd Annual Rotunda Rocks Returns to Hampden Neighborhood this Spring
Family-friendly Night of Rockin’ Fun Begins May 3 and Runs Every Friday Until End of September

Whether you like to jam to rock, folk, blues, Indie, Latin or reggae, there is something for everyone as the second annual Rotunda Rocks concert series returns to Hampden this spring/summer (711 W 40th Street). This family-friendly FREE concert series, presented by MCB Real Estate, features live music on the plaza and a street festival atmosphere with delicious local food and drinks, fun games and local vendors on Fridays, 6-9 p.m. beginning May 3 and running until September 27. Rotunda Rocks is open to the public and welcomes families and pets. A portion of proceeds from beverage sales benefits the Maryland SPCA. Two of Howard County’s premier farms (Manor Hill and Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue) are partnering for a family friendly day of farm-brewed beers, food, fun, and philanthropy.  Farm and Taproom open 12-7pm, featuring:

~ Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue on site with their majestic yet friendly horses for petting & pictures beginning at noon until about 4pm (or until the horses get tired). Learn about and contribute to their mission

 ~ New First Friday collaboration with Gentle Giants, "King's Abbey" (Belgian-Style Abbey) will be on draft and in cans. We will also have a few other Belgian beer options on draught to honor their Belgian Draft Horses.

~ Manor Hill Pizza Trolley open 12-6pm

~ Portion of proceeds from "King's Abbey" beer sales donated to Gentle Giants Mission of saving draft horses from slaughter, abuse, and neglect

The Farm & Taproom seating is first come, first served.  We have indoor seating, a large covered tent, and plenty of outdoor space to spread out. There are several picnic tables in our field, but we also encourage you to bring your own chairs or even a portable (10×10) pop-up tent for shade and find your new favorite spot with friends.

The event features a chili competition between teams from across Maryland. This year’s competitors are M&T Bank, Fuchs NA, MartinFederal, Lori & Myles Team, Baltimore Gas and Electric, WPG Financial Group, Donald Carswell, Linwood Family, Element Fleet and Society of American Military Engineers. The family-friendly event will feature a kid’s zone with engaging activities to keep kids busy, in addition to live music, food, beverages, raffles, a silent auction and more.
 
Guests will cast their vote for “People’s Choice” and “Best Theme,” and an esteemed panel of judges representing each military branch will crown the “Judge’s Choice” champion. All proceeds will benefit The Baltimore Station, an organization supporting individuals, primarily veterans, dealing with homelessness and substance use disorder by providing residential therapy and workforce development programs.

Get ready for the holidays and shoppe small at St. James Academy! Every year, the Academy is turned into a Christmas wonderland, featuring a Festival of Trees, a gourmet cafe and a one-of-a-kind Christmas Shoppe with over 50 local vendors and artists selling unique items!

Christmas Shoppe is an annual event hosted by the St. James Academy Parents' Association and sponsored by Bill Kidd's Toyota. All proceeds from ticket sales benefit the children, teachers and staff of St. James Academy.

Food - Take a break from shopping and visit our pop-up gourmet cafe, featuring delectable entrees, delicious soups and salads, sandwiches, and kid-friendly options catered on-site by Casa Mia's of Parkton, MD, a St. James Academy family-owned business.

Wine & Beer - Sip a glass of wine or beer from our specially designed offerings selected by our community partner, Troyer's Liquors of Parkton, MD.

Christmas Cheer - A strong sense of community and pride in St. James Academy is evident when the doors of the Academy open to our families, friends, and to the public. Come wearing casual, festive attire and enjoy the Christmas music being piped throughout the Academy to get you into the holiday spirit!

A Festival of Trees - Stroll through the Fir the Love of Hounds: A Festival of Trees created by Academy students in Pre-K through 8th Grade and place a silent auction bid if you wish. This event is made possible by our Presenting Sponsor, Bill Kidd's Toyota.

A Wonderful Cause - The St. James Academy Christmas Shoppe & Cafe is the Parents' Association's largest fundraiser of the year! All proceeds benefit the Academy's students, teachers, and staff in the areas of arts, athletics, and technology.

We are excited to announce the return of one of our favorite brews… I GOT YOUR SIX!  We are releasing this beer at the farm beginning  Saturday 11/8 in advance of Veteran’s Day (11/11). Stop by the farm all weekend (Friday 4-9pm. Saturday 12-7pm, Sunday 12-7pm) to have a pint and grab a six pack (or two) of this awesome brew that supports an important cause (Stop Soldier Suicide).

I GOT YOUR SIX is brewed by our Lead Brewer and Marine veteran, Milhouse, in collaboration with other veterans. This Cold IPA features YCH Veterans Blend hop (which hopped on board to also benefit Stop Soldier Suicide for 2024).  Utilizing red wheat, white rice, and blue corn, this year’s version remains as crisp and approachable as prior years.  Coming in at 5.56%, it is incredibly refreshing, light, and eminently drinkable. A portion of proceeds from the sale of this beer are donated directly to Stop Soldier Suicide.

Join us for night of intrigue and step into a world of Clue. This interactive Clue themed murder mystery dinner is set in the 1940's. This event includes a buffet dinner while guests are treated to a mystery that unfolds throughout the evening. There will be a “murder” and all guests will be led through a series of clues to try to solve the mystery. During the event guests may purchase raffle tickets to take chances on a variety of prizes.
